Brief: Create a fun, playful and funky brand for the podcast created by Data Impact by NielsenIQ. The intention behind this branding was for it to feel complementary, yet completely visually separate, from the main brand identity. Creating a separate brand will make published assets feel less corporate and independent of sponsored content, leading to organic interaction. Other competitor podcasts remain visually dry and overwhelmingly standard, the intention was to create something that would pop out from the others.
Insight: I went through several iterations when creating this branding, as the initial brief was fairly open-ended. Each was rejected for seeming too corporate. Since the podcast name is fairly long, creating a logotype that fit it all was a challenge. Eventually, I decided on utilising a funky, original font for the 'Omni' type, and a minimal, sans-serif font for the rest.
Method: I chose Figma to prepare and store all design assets, from logo creation to final visuals.
Takeaway: I love the end result, it took some time and experimentation with the stakeholders to find what they wanted, but I think the final product creates exactly the effect desired.
